For the Poor-party (Köyhien Asialla) was established to inhibit division in the society. According to recent studies Finland has almost 1 million poor people, who can not support themselves, including families with small children. This is alarming since this gap in people´s incomes has largely resulted from unjust political decision-making.

Our party is concerned with the lack of democracy, which can be seen before all the elections, this year being no exception. The national tv YLE is supervised by the parliament parties. This has resulted in unjust treatment in the election programs regarding the non-parliamentary parties. For the Poor -party has not been given hardly any time on air, though the law requires equal treatment of all parties. In the previous communal elections the chairperson Terttu Savola was not admitted to the discussion program meant for non-parliamentary parties. People pay high tv-license payments without getting a holistic picture of all political alternatives, but biased tv broadcasts. This is a threat to democracy.

Another threat is that the parliamentary parties take noticeable sums of taxpayers money for their own party aid, office money and press aid. In the upcoming elections we campaign for honest and equal treatment for all people, despite of their financial situation, gender, age or cultural background. For the Poor-party strives to build a just community with responsible leaders, and is determined to resist corruption in politics
